On July 20th, Bushiroad held it’s 18th Weekly Vanguard overDress Information Bureau live stream where they detailed information about their current and upcoming releases. As a final portion of this stream, shown below in Japanese, they revealed some new information about upcoming Shaman King expansion set that will be added to the card game this Fall. It was previously announced that there will be a Booster set and Trial deck released in on November 5th, 2021 and then a second Booster set to be released in Spring 2021 in Japan.
During the stream, and then later posted on Twitter, they previewed two of the cards that will be included in the Trial Deck and included an English translation from the official English Twitter account.
[OverSoul]-[ACT](VC)[1/turn]:[COST][Put a rear-guard with “Amidamaru” in its card name into your soul], draw a card, and until end of turn, this unit gets “[CONT](VC):All of your front row units get [Power]+5000.”.
[AUTO](VC):When this unit attacks, if your damage zone has four or more cards, [COST][Counter-Blast 1], and this unit gets [Critical]+1 until end of that battle.
[CONT](RC):During your turn, if you have a vanguard with “Yoh Asakura” in its card name, this unit gets [Power]+5000, and if that vanguard is [OverSoul] this turn, this unit gets [Critical]+1.
Trial Deck Information

There are 16 types of cards within the 50 card trial deck. Additionally, there are some cards with different rarities included:
- 32 Normal/Standard
- 16 SKR (Shaman King Rare)
- 1 SP (Special Rare)
- 1 SSR (Super Special Rare)
The SSR (Super Special Rare) card includes a printed signature of Yoh Asakura’s 2021 voice actress, Yoko Hikasa.
The “Shaman King Rare” cards are a unique type of rarity where the card borders have been removed to allow more of the artwork to be shown as well as having a holographic effect.

The “Ride Lines” are the characters that are focused on within a certain deck type.
There are 82 different cards within the volume 1 booster set:
- 41 Common
- 20 Rare
- 13 RR
- 8 RRR
Additionally there are 98 different versions that could be holographic as well:
- 84 SKR (Shaman King Rare)
- 11 SP (Special Rare)
- 3 SSR (Super Special Rare)
There is also a token card available within the set as well.
The 3 SSRs that can be found in the booster set are similar to the Trail Deck SSR where they will have a printed signature from the voice cast of the 2021 anime. Those cards are:
- Yoh Asakura – Signed by Yoko Hikasa
- Tao Ren – Signed by Romi Park
- Hao – Signed by Minami Takayama
Within the RRR rarity for the cards, there are 3 illustrations drawn exclusively for the Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress set. These drawings are for Ren, Anna, and Hao, which are featured in this promotional image:
On Twitter, The Card Box Shunan Store also posted images of their promotional flyer which also included a sample image of another Hao card from the SKR rarity:
If you purchase an entire sealed booster box, you will get a normal version of the Complete Guard (R) and a version of the Super Trigger that is found in the Trial Deck for Shaman King.
