New JumpX comes out every 10th of the month in Japan… so a new Shaman King Flowers is coming soon! And it’s on the cover of JumpX again (in a smaller image… but still!). Update 7/8:
A little earlier than normal… but here’s the covers of the new JumpX issue! Full cover from Amazon.
Also…. this falls under more of a “I think I know Takei too well….” but we should see an “Anna” in this chapter. Which one….? Probably the new one. And we will see if her name is truely… “Annna.”

Ok… here’s what happens! Spoiler time!

We pick up right from where we left off… with Luka’s attack on Hana, but he is able to block with his armor OS. For some reason this shocks Yuka. Maybe she wasn’t paying attention before…? Anyways before the fight continues Hana does a little bit of talking and gives the “Hao eyes” to Luka. This kicks her back to basically the same flashback as in the last chapter, though much shorter. Then Luka is back on the attack again… but instead transforms her OS into a standing version of her chariot. Think more like Ultimo… Actually all the shots in this chapter feel very much like Ultimo… but you can make out what is actually happening!
Both Luka and Hana send out there attacks… but coming in from behind suddenly is Yohane! Hana is able to turn around, but not fast enough to block. He takes a hit right through is body.
However, this isn’t enough to stop Hana, and he prepares his counter-attack before Yohane pulls his OS back. Luka shoots a beam at Hana to break his OS before he launches his counter-attack. Now defenseless and wounded… Luka and Yohane charge up for one final blow….
Then Ryu figures out there is a commotion outside and investigates! The Hanagumi are bothered and are watching TV.
But before Ryu can enter the battle… Anna the Third enters the battle!
Overall Thoughts…
I’m glad Anna showed up at the end. My “Takei-sense” is still right on the money. I think it’s nice that this chapter feels a bit more like “Ultimo” than it does “Jumbor.” “Ultimo-style” is pretty quick paced, where as this chapter isn’t, but it still keeps the action moving without losing you. Basically the perfect blend, and is a great way to end the first volume of Shaman King Flowers.

Update 7/10:
Andy wrote a great summary already, so this time I’m gonna focus in what they’re saying instead of what’s happenig.
Hana had been using his OS’s defensive form as an airbag to avoid any damage, but he decides to use the katana-like offensive form (the one he used in the oneshot). Luka can’t believe that he’s able to change the shape of his OS with such a weak furyoku.
Then we have the recurrent speech with which the main character makes the bad guy hesitate. What’s the point in killing Hana and Yoh to turn her own family into the main one? If she kills Hana in the middle of the street won’t she be arrested? Isn’t using an OS the easiest and most coward way of killing someone? Yup, Luka starts wondering whether she’s doing the right thing… but her father’s all she’s ever believed in, since she and her brother grew up isolated from the real world (coughcoughbrainwashing), so in the end she decides to kill Hana anyway.
Hana’s making fun of Luka’s legged float when Yohane appears, upset about Hana’s lack of respect. Hana keeps fighting, wounded and angry about the branch family wanting to kill Yoh as well, but when one of Luka’s furyoku-annulment beams destroys his OS he starts to freak out.
Ryu finds out what’s going on outside the house and gets ready to fight, but Hana refuses to be helped despite the hole in his stomach. And finally, Patch Anna comes into scene! This time using her spirits: silver rod, silver shield, silver tail, silver wing and silver horn to save Hana’s ass. Of course, Ryu recognizes them straight away… they’re Silva’s!!
After destroying the float she declares herself Hana’s fiancée. I liked the fact that she’s not a tsundere anymore, which makes here less of “SK Anna” and more of a new character. Also they don’t look as alike as they used to 8DD
“If you don’t marry me I’ll kill you”
Conclusion: great chapter! (wait, that’s what I say every month right?)

Flowers volume 1 is coming out next month, exactly the same day than the next chapter! Here’s some confirmed info about it:
– It will come with an aditional plastic cover (so we’ll have 3 different covers to choose from!)
– It will come with an extra manga (probably just the oneshot, once again)
