Starting off in the middle of the week, our only international release this week is in Italy with Shaman King: Final Edition volume 6.
Thursday is a big day where the Shaman King anime broadcasts on the same day that Shonen Magazine Edge releases. And on the day that Shonen Magazine Edge releases, often there are Shaman King manga volumes that come out as well. So it becomes quite a busy day. Both Shaman King Zero volumes 1 & 2 will come back into print editions, this time from Kodansha. Outside of a small change to the covers, they are almost exactly the same with the content. Here’s a comparison of the different versions:
(The draft sketch was a bonus item included in the previously discontinued Jump X (Kai) magazine by Shueisha. It is not included in any release of the standalone manga and is included above for comparison purposes)
Depending on where you purchase the Shaman King Zero volume 1 in Japan, you may get the following benefits (featuring the art from volume 1):
Location | Benefit/Bonus Item |
---|---|
Animate | Animate Book Trading Card (AB-TC) |
Kikuya Tosho | Message Paper (Monochrome) |
Sanseido Bookstore | Monochrome Paper |
Melon Books | Illustration Card |
If you purchase both Shaman King Zero volumes 1 and 2, you will get this additional bonus (featuring the art from volume 2):
Location | Benefit/Bonus Item |
---|---|
Animate | Animate Book Trading Card (AB-TC) |
Kikuya Tosho | Message Paper (Monochrome) |
Sanseido Bookstore | Monochrome Paper |
Melon Books | Illustration Card |
Within Shonen Magazine Edge this month, there is the return of Shaman King: Marcos to the magazine. For its return chapter it has a single chapter with 79 pages in it. For keeping track of the upcoming and previous monthly Shaman King chapters, be sure to check out our Monthly Chapter Guide.
Rounding out the week we have the start of the Shaman King x Bakudan-yaki Honpo collaboration event on Saturday. The collaboration will last until July 16th for fans living in Japan. More details about this collaboration can be found in our article from earlier in the week.
Starting next week on June 23rd the Japanese-language mobile RPG game Grand Summoners will be having a collaboration in-game. To get fans ready for the event, they are starting a daily in-game login bonus this week. We have some more information about the collaboration on our Twitter page, including images of some of the character designs.
