This is it! The week you have been waiting for all year long is finally here. The Shaman King (2021) anime has it’s premiere this Thursday! Episode 1 will first broadcast on TV at 17:55 JST and then will be on the Japanese Netflix starting at 19:00 JST. No word on when the international Netflix streaming of the episode will start yet. However some marketing materials in France point to an April 2021 release in that region. Stay tuned to find out when we can officially get that episode around the world.

In addition to the TV episode, there is a bunch of new TV specials broadcasting throughout the week. Luckily we have a whole brand new article about those which you can read right now!

Friday is also a big day for some collaborations. First up is Nakayosi Magazine will have it’s 5th chapter of Shaman King: & a Garden. If you pick up the physical issue of the magazine it will also have some extra bonuses of a coin purse and stickers for holding your erasers. Plus there is a color page for & a garden (shown above) and if you can’t wait for the chapter, there is a free preview on their website right now (for one month).

The Japanese mobile game, Last Period will also be having a collaboration event featuring Shaman King. The event starts on April 2nd and will continue until April 18th within the game. A website has been opened for the event, and we’ll have more coverage of the collaboration after it releases later this week.

Rounding out the week, Italy will have Shaman King back in print again with the new “Final Edition” of the manga. The series was previously released as the “Perfect Edition” which modeled after the “Kang Zeng Bang” edition from Japan. A title such as “Final Edition” was needed to help separate the differences from that previous release. The “Early Premier Pack” is limited to bookstores in Italy and contains volumes 1 & 2 along with some stickers. Volume 2 will not officially be released in the region until later this month.

Lastly Megumi Hayashibara’s “VINTAGE DENIM” 30th Anniversary album will release this week in Japan. On the first CD, of the 3 CD set, both of the 2001 Shaman King anime’s openings are featured. They are “Over Soul” and “Northern Lights.” It’s unclear if this album will be streaming on various music platforms outside of Japan (such as Spotify), but we will keep an ear out for it! The tracklist for the album was covered in a previous article here on Patch Café. There is also a sample of some of the songs in this official video uploaded last week.
