Unlike with previous announcements we did not get a unique visual for these characters, outside of the new “Key Visual 2.”

Yui Horie ( 堀江由衣) will return from the original 2001 anime to play Iron Maiden Jeanne in the new anime.

Yūichi Nakamura (中村悠一) will be the new voice for Marco. Marco was originally played by Akimitsu Takase in the 2001 anime.

Voice Cast Comments

Similar to the previous voice cast announcements, they asked the voice cast members the same questions for their comments. We’ve included a rough English translation below.

Yui Horie for the voice of Iron Maiden Jeanne

Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
There are many characters in this series, all of which you can feel their emotions, beliefs, and struggles. They are all very attractive too!

Can you tell us about how you feel to play Iron Maiden again?

It’s been a long time since I’ve played Jeanne, but I hope I portray her sense of justice and beliefs passionately.

As a fan, I’m very happy to be able to see Shaman King animated again! I’m sure it will be a wonderful work, so please watch it along with me!♪

Yūichi Nakamura for the voice of Marco

Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
The themes of the story were so heavy that it made me wonder how it was serialized in a shonen magazine at the time.

I was intrigued by the way the story incorporated various issues into the world of Shaman King and made the readers think about them more deeply.

Can you tell us about how you feel to play Marco?

I hope I can convey Marco’s excessive seriousness and force of justice.

The other cast members are already so powerful, so I will do my best not to lose.
