Continuing their weekly trend, the official Shaman King 2021 anime Twitter and website were updated at 10:00am local time in Japan to announce some additional character designs and voice cast,
Voice Cast Announcements:
Tamao will be voiced by Nana Mizuki (水樹 奈々) and is returning from the 2001 anime.
Ponchi will be voiced by Takumu Miyazono (宮園 拓夢). He was previously voiced by Kenyu Horiuchi (堀内 賢雄) in the 2001 anime.
Conchi will be voiced by Noriaki Kanze (観世 智顕). He was previously voiced by Tsutomu Kashiwakura (柏倉 つとむ) in the 2001 anime.

Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
In the end, I think it’s all about Yoh’s personality!
The protagonist of a battle manga should be hot-blooded! But Yoh is the opposite with the “it will all work out” vibe that grabs ahold of you, if you are friend or foe. By relaxing his shoulders he is able to absorb his surroundings and go beyond… I can really admire that type of person who can even do that enthusiastically! (laugh)
Can you tell us about how you feel to play Tamao again?
I never thought I’d be playing Tamao again after 20 years!! I’m really surprised and thrilled to do it!!
Back then, I was standing in front of the microphone, trembling, desperately trying my best, but now I know I can give it my all!!
Takumu Miyazono for the voice of Ponchi
Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
There are many fascinating characters, ideologies, reasons for fighting, dreams to reach…. All of them have different backgrounds, but you can feel the rich depth to them.
The story is dramatic, but at the same time, you can relate to the characters so it is nothing short of a wonderful story.
Can you tell us about how you feel to play Ponchi?
I was fortunate enough to inherit the role of Ponchi.
He has been a spirit for more than 400 years, but his heart is still that of a mischievous child who still plays pranks. Although he is a tanuki, he is very human-like, he even wears diapers. I love him and even while cute, he’s still hated.
Noriaki Kanze for the voice of Conchi
Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
Personally, I love the coolness of the O.S. designs.
Each weapon shows off the character and tickles the boy’s fancy!
And then there’s the character of Yoh, who has this calm and relaxed atmosphere. But when his relaxed atmosphere breaks, then the action begins.
I think the charm of this series is this good sense of balance.
Can you tell us about how you feel to play Conchi?
I never thought I would be involved with this work from my youth..
I am honored to be able to play Conchi, a character that my Senpais were in charge of.
They love mischief and fun, so I would like to play as him well to bring you all the Ponchi-Conchi comedy duo that will make you laugh!
The new Shaman King anime will broadcast in Japan in April 2021 on TV Tokyo but an exact date and timeslot have not been announced. While new character announcements and voice cast have been occurring weekly, it is not a definitive schedule for future announcements.
