Starting on November 17th, the Japanese mobile game “Three Kingdoms Smash” (Sangoku Taisen Smash) will officially kick off a collaboration event with the upcoming Shaman King anime property. This mobile game has a playstyle that is very similar to popular Japanese mobile game “Monster Strike.” The following is a trailer to promote the upcoming collaboration (in Japanese only):
The following characters will be available for purchase via a “gatcha” (paid random drawing) within the game:
- Yoh Asakura
- Tao Ren
- Lyserg Diethel
Through the in-game campaign the following other characters will be available:
- Anna Kyoyama
- Hao
- Opacho
- Luchist Lasso
The official collaboration campaign will start on Tuesday November 17th, 2020 at 12:00 in Japan and will run until Monday December 3rd, 2020 at 10:59. The in-game events will end slightly earlier on Friday November 27th, 2020 at 10:59. Additionally, leading up to this collaboration campaign there is a series of in-game promotions.
If you log into the game each day leading up to the campaign the following benefits will be added to your account for free:
November 13th (Day 1): 1 Dragonball (orb)
November 14th (Day 2): 1 Meatbun
November 15th (Day 3): Equipment: “Harasume & Futsunomitama no Tsurugi”
November 16th (Day 4): 1 Dragonball (orb)
The “Dragonballs” are the in-game currency for spending in the “gatcha” mechanics within the game to unlock rare and powerful warriors. While they can be slowly acquired within the game, you can also spend real-world money to purchase these within the game.
The Equipment “Harasume & Futsunomitama no Tsurugi” can be attached to your middle character and act as a “Hao Killer.” It also provides an additional +2900 HP (Health), +2000 Attack, and +200 speed to your character.
The following is a gallery of the in-game characters. Each character within the game has an “army” type, which is featured in the upper right of their icon.
The game, created by Ateam, is currently only available in Japanese and Chinese. For this collaboration it also updated it’s icon to the following (right). You can download the game from the following services:
Additional information about the game can be found within the game, on their official Twitter (@sangokusmash), on their official website, and from the fan-wiki on Altema.
This game collaboration is also the first game collaboration that has partnered with the new upcoming Shaman King anime directly. All previous Japanese mobile collabs (such as Puzzle & Dragon) were with Hiroyuki Takei and Kodansha directly. This collaboration now specifically references the “Shaman King Project” which is the production committee for the upcoming 2021 anime. The new copyright tagline is: “©Hiroyuki Takei, KODANSHA / “SHAMAN KING” Production Committee.” As such, these character designs may provide some small insight onto the direction the new anime.
Thank you to Jezzy for providing additional game information.
