Over the last several months there has been some new Shaman King products released in Japan. Let’s go through a recap on what those were!
Ironman of Karaoke Extended Collaboration Event
Back in August the initial collaboration event at the karaoke cafe カラオケの鉄人 (Ironman of Karaoke – King of System) had their first round of limited edition products and drinks. Starting on September 21st they extended the collaboration event and added the following items until the new end date of November 11th, 2018:
- A Funbari Onsen special package which had 2 bath salt packages, an over-sized placemat, and a flight of 3 milk drinks.
- With a purchase of the special collaboration drink, the potential to get a coaster from the “C Box” featuring art from the final 5 eBook volumes of the Shaman King manga from Kodansha
- A random Oracle Bell keychain for 600 yen
- A random pin for 500 yen
Bandai Premium adds more Shaman King Products
After the successful initial product launch in April, Bandai Premium added new wave of items in September for pre-order and shipped in January 2019. Below is a gallery of the new items. Previously added items were also available for an additional wave of pre-orders. Shaman King Hoodies from Amnibus
Starting on October 1st, the company Amnibus started pre-orders for two versions of Shaman King hoodies. The pre-orders ended on November 20th, 2018 and would ship in January 2019. They came in both men and women sizes and featured an orange Yoh or red Hao designs for 5980yen each.
Due to the high number of initial pre-orders a second wave of pre-orders is still open and will ship in late January 2019. The hoodies can be pre-ordered from their official website. These items only ship within Japan (no international shipping).
Original GraffArt Products Available Online
First releasing back in August, the GraffArt Shop opened up a pop-up shop to sell their custom Shaman King products. In the months following they did also expand the product line to their other stores in Japan, but didn’t become available for purchase online until October.
You can view their items for sale online at their official online store. Note that they only ship within Japan (no international shipping) and items may not be restocked once the quantities run out.
Glow-in-the-dark Shaman King “Can Badges”
Released in the last week of December, Bandai has released a new set of random capsules (Gashapon) for glow-in-the-dark pins. There are 8 designs featuring Yoh, Anna, Faust, Hao, Ren, Lyserg, Horohoro, and Jeanne from Shaman King. All of the art was re-used from the Kodansha eBook releases of Shaman King. Each costs 200 yen, and you can view them on the official Gashapon website.
Hyper Dash! Yonkuro Mini 4WD “Dancing Divine Doll”
Continuing with Hiroyuki Takei’s line of his Hyper Dash! Yonkuro Mini 4WDs based on his manga of the same name. Yet another kit was released in December 2018. Here’s the official English description of the product:
The Dancing Divine Doll creates a car from the popular Japanese Mini 4WD comic “Hyper Dash! Yonkuro.” Inspired by the original Dancing Doll, it features a number of breathtaking updates to the design. The model is based upon the midship-aero MA chassis.
The Ultra Efficient MA chassis
The MA (Midship AERO) Chassis has its motor in the center, and features a design which focused upon achieving outstanding aerodynamic performance. It has a gear ratio of 3.5:1, 6 individual rollers, a rear skid bars and other speedy features developed thanks to years of design experience. The single-piece monocoque frame also guarantees that assembling and keeping the car well-maintained is a task that can be performed by beginners and veteran racers alike.
• Mini 4WD model assembly kit. Length: 156mm, width: 97mm.
• The MA Chassis is Olive Gray ABS, while A parts are molded in Purple low-friction POM.
• The new body, designed by Hiroyuki Takei, comes molded in Red.
• Comes with all-new metallic stickers with a red and brown theme, plus lilac accents.
• Large diameter White wheels are paired with Black slick tires.
• Type 130 double shaft motor is included. The model features a 4:1 gear ratio.
• Two AA batteries are required (sold separately).
• A wide range of Grade-Up Parts is available separately to customize your machine.
Yoh & Hao Kotobukiya Figure Pre-Orders Open
From the updated designs in July 2018, the Yoh and Hao figures from Kotobukiya now have pre-orders open. Final release dates haven’t been announced, but Yoh will release in February 2019 and Hao in March 2019.
Many online retailers have pre-orders still available for these figures. The official product pages for Yoh and Hao also have many additional images.
GraffArt creates several new waves of Shaman King products
After the successful launch of their first wave of Shaman King products, GraffArt has created 4 additional batches of Shaman King products. The first wave of products is in celebration of the Chinese Zodiac/New Year with the “Year of the Pig/Boar.”
Starting on December 26th, the following products were added:
