Back in June, it was announced that Hiroyuki Takei would be the featured artists for the quarterly magazine “Kikan S.” With this, his art would be featured on the cover and an interview with him would be the main article.

Two days ago, Hiroyuki Takei’s editor for Shonen Magazine Edge (for Shaman King The Super Star and Nekogahara), sent out a tweet that roughly translates to the following: “Soon, a certain manga-drawing video may be posted in certain account.” At the time it didn’t specify who was being recorded or for what purpose. The timing of the tweet (as compared to some other tweets from the official Shaman King account), made it sound likely that Hiroyuki Takei was the one recorded (or will be recorded).

Earlier today, the official Kikan S Twitter account posted some preview images (included below) from the cover of the 63rd issue. The issue, featuring Yoh from Shaman King in a similar design to original and Kodansha Comic ebook volume 1 of the Shaman King manga, will go on sale on September 15th, 2018. A pre-order link is now available on Amazon.co.jp.

After the official tweet today, then there was s short conversation between Takei’s editor (Y田) and the official Kikan S twitter accounts.

Kikan S (in response to Y田’s tweet 2 days earlier): “It’s was as Y田 foretold! I would like to give you the drawing video referenced here soon. We took photographs at the same time as the recording. Hopefully the photos can convey how quickly Takei’s speed and detail is!😊

Y田 then added the following: “The other day’s announcement was that cover drawing process commentary and interview with  Mr. Takei will release on September 15. The content of the interview is very dark, and touches on things not shown in [Shonen Magazine] Edge yet.

Kikan S then responded to that Tweet with: “That’s right… I think I can deliver a story that will make you invested in future developments while still being fun. Also, along with the special feature, we heard some stories about story origin, including Mr. Takei’s own impressive events and experiences 👽

The official Shaman King Twitter account, has specified that the interview will go into detail about the future developments in the Shaman King The Super Star series as well as the 20th Anniversary as a whole.
