Back in March,
manga artist Mikio Itou started a new manga called 月曜日のライバル -メガヒットマンガ激闘記- or in English “Monday’s Rival: Mega Hit Manga Fierce Battle Chronicles.” The manga is being released for free digitally on the Konomanga website called “このマンガがすごい！WEB” or in English “This Manga is Amazing! Web”. The first four chapters are currently available online for free here.
The story based around working as an assistant for a popular fictional manga series (すろうに剣士 – “To Be a Swordsman“) in a popular fictional manga magazine (週刊少年ギャラクシー – Weekly Shonen Galaxy”). The stories involved are based on Mikio Itou’s own experiences working on Rurouni Kenshin and Shaman King in Weekly Shonen Jump. As such, one of the characters is drawing a manga heavily inspired by Hiroyuki Takei’s first success “Itako No Anna” (shown right)
The first volume of the manga is scheduled to be on sale in Japan on June 22nd, 2018. The volume will be priced at 745yen and has an ISBN of 9784800283825
