At 2018 Winter Wonder Festival, Kotobukiya has announced that they are working on a new figure for “Yoh Asakura” and “Hao Asakura” based on an original drawing by Hiroyuki Takei. This announcement came in the form of a sign at their booth, which is shown to the right (taken by es_series on twitter). This drawing had not been previously released. The image was also included in a Kotobukiya promotional booklet at the event for advertising their upcoming releases.
It’s not clear if this will be sold as two figures or a single figure. The figure will be part of it’s ARTFX J line of figures. These figures are typically around 200mm in height (at 1/8 scale) and made with pre-painted PVC. The price can average around 9000yen for figures in this product line.
Previously, the company Sentinel released a Yoh Asakura figure under their “RIO:bone” line of figures which was released in November 2012. A Hao Asakura and Anna Kyōyama were also prototyped, but never released and are considered cancelled. Previous Wonder Festivals is where these prototypes by Sentinel were on display. Within Hiroyuki Takei’s office, he has a large collection of official and fan created figures from the Shaman King series.
