On February 19th, 2017 will begin the Winter edition of Wonder Festival (ワンダーフェスティバル) for 2017. This is also know as Wonderfest, Wonfes( ワンフェス). This is a special, twice-a–year convention that is based around promoting and selling of figures, typically from anime, manga, and comic series.

The event is split between the official figure manufacturers promoting their upcoming figures to be sold through normal outlets for the rest of the year and one-off “groups” that make their own custom figures for sale during the event. These one-off, fan-groups’ figures typically get a “look-the-other-way” in terms of copyright infringement for using licensed characters on this special day in this special location. Typically these figures are sold at high prices with a very limited quantity. And often these figures are promoted online via social media. A such, there has been a couple new figures (unofficial, fanmade) being advertised and some reprints from last year, which we have listed below. As more are posted online, we’ll have additional news posts. Sometimes we won’t see them until the day of the event!

Tao Ren from Shaman King by flalamingo

Tao Ren will be returning to this event. He was previously sold as a garage kit during Wonder Festival Summer 2015, Winter 2016, and Summer 2016 by 「flalalamingo」. This figure will feature Ren holding Bason in a spiritball mode, and include removable shirt. The colored version is only the display model and the figure on sale is unpainted. Horohoro from Shaman King by flalamingo

From Wonder Festival Winter 2016 & Summer 2016, Horohoro returns from 「flalalamingo」 at this event!  This figure will feature Horohoro with a removable Kororo figure for his shoulder. The colored version is only the display model and the figure on sale is unpainted. This figure will be on sale at table 7-10-07. Chocolove from Shaman King by flalamingo

First was Ren, then Horohoro, and then to finish off team The Ren comes Chocolove from 「flalalamingo」!  Originally this was sold at the Summer 2016 event. This figure will be similar to both Horohoro and Ren with a removable Mic spirit (which will be partially translucent in the final version). The colored version is only the display model and the figure on sale is unpainted. This figure will be on sale at table 7-10-07. Horohoro from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi

New to this year, Nanbertakahi gives his take on Horohoro! Similar to his previous figures, it’s  a 1/8th scale garage kit that will most likely sell for 9000 yen at the table 4-09-08 under the name of 「万魔堂」. Yoh Asakura from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi

Returning from the last two events… Yoh Asakura completes the set! This is a 1/8th scale garage kit that will sell for 9000 yen at the table 4-09-08 under the name of 「万魔堂」. Matamune from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi

Returning from the last several Wonder Festivals, the Matamune figure returns. This is a 1/8th scale garage kit that will sell for 7000 yen at the table 4-09-08 under the name of 「万魔堂」. Anna Kyoyama from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi

Returning from the last several Wonder Festivals, the Anna figure by Nanbertakahi is on sale. This is a 1/8th scale garage kit that will sell for 9000 yen at the table 4-09-08 under the name of 「万魔堂」. Ohachiyo from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi

Continuing from Summer 2016, Ohachiyo (乙破千代) returns as designed by Nanbertakahi! Currently there is no color version, as well as price. But it is expected to be on sale during the event. You can find additional images on Nanbertakhi’s fixia page or follow on Twitter.

Spirit of Fire from Shaman King by mamushi32

Returning for a second Wonder Festival… we have this Spirit of Fire figure! This one is from a different  creator than supawa‘s Spirit of Fire from Wonder Festival Summer 2015.  Unlike the other figure, mamushi32’s contains a translucent material for the entire figure. It stands at 350mm tall and can be purchased at table 7-03-03 for 15,000yen. You can follow the development process on twitter.

Lucifer Oversoul from Shaman King by mamushi32

Continuing with the trend of large Oversouls, we now have a new figure of Lucifer, Luchist’s oversoul. Unlike the other figure, mamushi32’s can provide Lucifer with wings are a black translucent material (similar to the Spirit of Fire) and can be bought separately at an additional cost.  The figure (without wings or base can be purchased at table 7-03-03, under the titles “model2” for 20,000yen. You can follow the development process on twitter.

Horohoro (Zero Variant) from Shaman King 0 (Zero) by oden_shop

With a new color scheme, Oden_shop’s Horohoro returns to Wonder Festival. This time with an updated face, it is also colored as the cover page to the Horohoro chapter in Shaman King Zero. Damuko from Shaman King by oden_shop

This figure was previously released in 2014 Summer, Damuko returns to pair with Horohoro for another year. With each event, there may be some slight modification to the figure. It can be purchased at table 7-20-05. You can see the previous images on his fxia page.

Iron Maiden from Shaman King by unagi88

Returning from Summer 2016, a collection of unique Iron Maidens have been made by unagi88. Each Iron Maiden has it’s own finish, and some are solid while others can be opened (with magnet locks, hinges and screws). The price for the kit will be 3000yen. Jizō from Butsu Zone by mg5ji

From Hiroyuki Takei’s first original series… it’s Sennju’s best friend… Jizō! This is a returning figure from Summer 2016.  Several of these figures will be on sale during the event, but no price has been listed. They’ll be available for purchase from the table 7-09-04. Sennju & Sachi from Butsu Zone by mg5ji

Continuing the Butsu Zone set, Sennju and Sachi will also be making their debut this year. It’s unclear if all 3 will be sold as a set or individually. They’ll be available for purchase from the table 7-09-04. You can follow the limited development process on twitter.
