On July 24th, 2016 will begin the Summer 2016 edition of Wonder Festival (ワンダーフェスティバル). This is also know as Wonderfest, Wonfes( ワンフェス). This is a special convention that is based around promoting and selling of figures, typically from anime, manga, and comic series.
The event is split between the official figure manufacturers promoting their upcoming figures to be sold through normal outlets for the rest of the year and one-off “groups” that make their own custom figures for sale during the event. These one-off, fan-groups’ figures typically get a “look-the-other-way” in terms of copyright infringement for using licensed characters on this special day in this special location. Typically these figures are sold at high prices with a very limited quantity. And often these figures are promoted online via social media. A such, there has been a couple new figures (unofficial, fanmade) being advertised and some reprints from last year, which we have listed below. As more are posted online, we’ll have additional news posts. Sometimes we won’t see them until the day of the event!

Chocolove from Shaman King by flalamingo
First was Ren, then Horohoro, and now to finish off team The Ren comes Chocolove from 「flalalamingo」! This figure will be similar to both Horohoro and Ren with a removable Mic spirit (which will be partially translucent in the final version). Currently there is no painted version, which will be for display only. This figure will be on sale at table 4-10-05. Returning from earlier this year, Horohoro from 「flalalamingo」 will appear at this event! This figure will feature Horohoro with a removable Kororo figure for his shoulder. The colored version is only the display model and the figure on sale is unpainted. This figure will be on sale at table 8-25-06. Tao Ren from Shaman King by flalamingo
Tao Ren will be returning to this event. He was previously sold as a garage kit during Wonder Festival Summer 2015 and Winter 2016 by 「flalalamingo」. This figure will feature Ren holding Bason in a spiritball mode, and include removable shirt. The colored version is only the display model and the figure on sale is unpainted. Lee Pai Long from Shaman King by マツイカズキ
A new person has joined this Wonder Festival with 2 new figures, the first being Lee Pai Long! Unlike other figures on display, this one is sculpted, so there is only one produced and will be on display. マツイカズキ is a 2nd-year art student whose other sculptures have been painted. So in the future you may be able to see a fully-painted version on display! To see more images and some of the development process you can follow his twitter account.
Wooden Sword Ryu from Shaman King by マツイカズキ
Ryu also is on display by マツイカズキ along with Lee Pai Long. This is also a sculpture that is unpainted and is expected to be for display only. However, Ryu has gone through a revision, as his original design also had a Tokageroh is spirit ball mode on his shoulder. Yoh Asakura from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi
Returning from Winter 2016… Yoh Asakura appears! This is a 1/8th scale garage kit that will sell for 9000 yen at the table 4-15-09 under the name of 「万魔堂」. The colored version is only the display model and the figure on sale is unpainted. You can find additional images on Nanbertakhi’s fixia page.
Matamune from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi
Returning from the last several Wonder Festivals, the Matamune figure returns. This is a 1/8th scale garage kit that will sell for 7000 yen at the table 4-15-09 under the name of 「万魔堂」. Anna Kyoyama from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi
Returning from the last several Wonder Festivals, the Anna figure by Nanbertakahi is on sale. Ohachiyo from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi

Matamune (Bathing Verison) 1/12 scale from Shaman King by Nanbertakahi
And why stop with just one Matamune figure… when you can have 3! As inspired from the Shaman King fanbook, we have a 1/12 scale Matamune figure while bathing. There is 2 different sizes for this as well. Currently no price has been listed but is expected to be on sale during the event. Additionally there is no color version posted, however the final version will be using yellow plastic for Matamune’s skin and white plastic for the towel. Spirit of Fire from Shaman King by mamushi32
Coming from a Wonder Festival first timer… we have another Spirit of Fire figure! This one is from a different creator than supawa‘s Spirit of Fire from Wonder Festival Summer 2015. Unlike the other figure, mamushi32 is experimenting with a fully translucent material for the entire figure. It stands at 350mm tall and can be purchased at table 7-03-14. Marco from Shaman King by Okirakudo
Another new creator brings Marco to life with this new figure! A full colored version will be on display, but “several” unpainted versions can be purchased for 5000yen each. Jizō from Butsu Zone by mg5ji
From Hiroyuki Takei’s first original series… it’s Sennju’s best friend… Jizō! This figure is also by a new creator to Hiroyuki Takei’s series. There is no colored version yet. However several of these figures will be on sale during the event, but no price has been listed. They’ll be available for purchase from the table 6-14-13. Iron Maiden & Jeanne from Shaman King and Genber from Jumbor by OUTERIM
Returning from previous Wonder Festivals, there are 3 small “capsule” size figures will also be on sale from OUTERIM! There is both Jeanne in and out of the Iron Maiden, as well as Genber from Jumbor! All 3 are sold individually and are unpainted. This year they are in a “pitch black” colored plastic and be sold at table 4-16-13. You can follow the creator on Twitter as well!
Destrich, Death Pinch, and Shovelius EMs from Jumbor by YAMABIKO320
Returning from the last several events, all 3 of Yamabik320’s Jumbor figures will be on sale. Note that there has been an additional price increase on these from previous events. They will be sold at table 7-10-10 under the name of「YAMABIKO320」. You can see more images from either of his Twitter accounts (TTY and Yamabiko320)or his website.
Destrich (165mm, 56 pieces) will cost 9000 yen.
Death Pinch (Nipper’s Custom, 190mm, 86 pieces with decals) will be on sale for 15,000 yen.
Shovelius (240mm, 96 pieces with decals) will be on sale for 25,000 yen.
Additionally, Death Pinch and Shovelius will come with their drivers (to scale) as well.
