With the launch of Shonen Magazine Edge this month they are also launching a manga creation contest. If you submit your manga manuscript and is selected you can win cash prize (up to 500,000 yen) and possibly printed by Kodansha. Hiroyuki Takei will also be a guest judge to review the finalists. You can submit online or by mail.
Some details (but if you are entering, read the full rules on the website) about the contest:
- All entries are due by Tuesday, November 17th, 2015
- The winner will be announced on Saturday, January 16th, 2016
- Professional or amateur artists may enter (as long as it’s an unpublished work)
- Genre and page count doesn’t matter.
- Size should be B4
- Digital files should be in .psd format with at least 600dpi
- Though not stated, these typically must be submitted in Japanese
