From February 22nd through March 16th, Edition 88 is holding a Butsu Zone exhibition in Tokyo at the Yurakucho Marui 8F. The exhibition is formally called “Hiroyuki Takei Art Career Roughly 30th Anniversary: Butsu-Zone Original Art Exhibition.” A special website has been created for this event. To enter the art exhibit portion has an admission fee of 1200 yen per person (tax included). The exhibit will have nearly 100 original illustrations on display from Hiroyuki Takei’s Butsu Zone series as well as his oneshots Itako No Anna and Death Zero. The area will also feature the original color illustrations and a photo spot with life-size versions of some of the characters. Some areas of the exhibition will allow photography, and some areas will not.
With the admission to the exhibit you will also receive one random sticker. The first designs will be available between February 22nd through March 6th. Then starting on March 7th through March 16th different designs will be given out.
If you are lucky enough to get a random holographic sticker version, you will be given a special application form. From the group that had received the holographic sticker, 10 winners will be selected and Hiroyuki Takei will personally write the winners name and a character illustration of their choice on an Ema. These will then be mailed to winners after the event. A sample is shown below.

In addition to the exhibit there will also be a gift shop that will be open at the venue. You do not need to pay for the admission to the exhibit to go to the gift shop. Additionally these items will be available on the Japanese Edition88 online store, but an exact date when it will open has not been announced yet. While Edition88 does have an international/English web store, they have also not announced yet if some of these items will be available for international fans. Any of the expensive “88Graphs” prints are hand-signed by Hiroyuki Takei and are individually numbered. Some of those may be only available after the Exhibition and will be mailed.
For those fans who purchase items totaling over 3000 yen at the shop in-person and use an Epos card to pay, you will be entered into a lottery to win one of the following prizes:
- A Prize: Posted signed by Hiroyuki Takei
- B Prize: Complete set of 6 postcards
- C Prize: 1 random postcard (from set of 6)
Sample images of the poster and the postcards are not available yet and can not be purchased separately. Additional details about these exclusive in-store bonuses can be found here.
