Announced in Japan earlier today (April 1st, 2023) a new Shaman King: Exhibition venue will be planned for the future. Unlike the previous venues which were held at various times from November 2019 through February 2022 in Japan, this one is being planned to take place on the moon. In collaboration with JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency), there will be a special capsule sent to the moon for this “Exhibition” via a rocket that will be launched from Japan. The capsule contained on this newly created rocket is planned to look like an Oracle Bell from the Shaman King series, is planning on containing the following items:

  1. A physical copy of Shaman King volume 1 manga in Japanese
  2. A music CD single for “Moon Chant ~New Frontier Hana Version~”
  3. A disc containing all 35 volumes of the Shaman King manga
  4. A disc containing all 6 volumes of Shaman King: Flowers and 9 volumes of Shaman King: The Super Star
  5. An original message and drawing by Hiroyuki Takei
  6. An original message Yoko Hikasa (Yoh & Hana’s Japanese voice actress)

The exact location of the capsule on where on the moon it will land has not been determined. Attendees of this moon venue are responsible for their own transportation and lodging. No admission price has been announced yet. Additional updates on this new “venue” are expected on September 31st, 2023. Images of the items for the capsule will be announced at a later date as well.

In order for the rocket to be launched and deposit the capsule onto the moon it will still need further approvals from space regulatory agencies. Where the rocket will be launched from is also yet to be determined. The cost of just the launch alone could cost over $150,000,000 USD. The cost estimates for designing and building a new rocket could raise the costs of this project to over one billion dollars just to carry this one capsule. The financing details of this project have not been announced.

With this announcement there was also some quotes from Hiroyuki Takei, his editor Moriyoshi Yoshida, and Hana’s voice actresses Yoko Hikasa. The following are some rough English translations of those quotes:

Hiroyuki Takei

Space! It’s an endless frontier which can only be explored by riding in a cool spaceship. However there is lots of empty space in outer space. So for now, we’ll start by going to the Moon. Hana will be there soon and working with JAXA helped me gain that first-hand knowledge on what it is like in space. I already have some ideas for some cool ship designs. Please look forward to this new venue and I hope we can have an in-person meet-up at the venue soon! Haha!

Moriyoshi Yoshida

With fans from all over Japan, and the entire world, enjoying the Shaman King series, we had to set our sights higher than ever before. The 20th Anniversary was the “Shaman Fight in Tokyo”, so now we need to catch up to The Super Star and go to the moon. Due to all of the support from our fans and sponsors from around the world, this new project is something that no one could expect on a day like today. This is our hardest and most expensive venue yet for the Shaman King Exhibition series, so please continue to support the series.

Yoko Hikasa

I was a bit shocked when Takei-sensei asked me to record a song for this Moon Exhibition. I thought you couldn’t hear anything in space. Haha. This will truly be a difficult task he is asking for Hana. Please listen to this song and follow Hana’s journey in Flowers starting next year.

The original “Moon Chant” song was included on the “Comics Image Album Shaman King” released on June 27, 2001, prior to the 2001 anime airing in Japan. The original song is available for streaming on Spotify, iTunes, and various other streaming platforms. Within the Shaman King: Marcos manga series, it has been revealed that the battleground for the Flower of Maize will take place on the moon.

The above is an April Fools Joke for 2023. None of this is real and is only a joke.
