From December 6, 2022 through January 31, 2023 the developers of Shaman King: Funbari Chronicle are holding a costume design contest for their game. They are requesting for fans to submit their original costume designs as part of the contest, with the winning entry being added into the game. The winning design will be announced in mid-February 2023 and added into the game in June 2023. A special webpage has been opened for this contest here.

- Costume design implemented in the game with 2D illustrations as well as a full 3D model

- Awarded the Orange rarity beads to level the character up to a ★5 rarity

Additional Rules for Submission
- Must include a Front, Side, and Back design
- Changes in hairstyle may not be possible with the 3D model
- Multiple entries can be submitted per person, but only 1 prize per person
- Image must be in a .jpg or .png format
- Image file must be 1MB or less
- A Google account is required for the Google Form for submission
- All required fields in the Google Form must be completed
- If you are a minor, you must gain consent from your guardian before submission
- They are focusing on “interesting ideas” and “design concepts” rather than the skill of the illustration
- The design may be published in other places such as websites, social media, and elsewhere within the game.
- Some changes to the design may be needed to convert to the 3D model
- Any design that does not meet the guidelines will be rejected and not receive the participation prize
- Must be original designs created by yourself and submitted exclusively for this contest
- All rights to the submitted designs will belong to Studio Z. You can not exercise moral rights on any of the submitted works.
- Rules and content are subject to change.
The winner of the contest will be announced in mid-February 2023. The new character designs will be released in-game around June 2023. If you want to submit your entry, the Japanese Google Form can be found here. Entries must be submitted by January 31, 2023 at 23:59.
While the contest is still open until the end of the month, the developers have been looking over the entries that have been submitted so far. They have received many more than they initial expected and will have a hard time making a decision. There has also been a high number of submissions for Jeanne, who this design contest was centered around. The developers wanted to remind fans that any of the approved characters can be submitted for designs, not just Jeanne.
