Patch Cafe is now 2 years old today! Happy Birthday!

I’ve hit some setbacks with the upgrade to the website… which kinda stinks, since I was hoping for it to be ready before today. Oh well. I’ll keep working on the upgrades, and you should all see the improvements soon!

Ever wanted to read more Mappa Douji? Well, guess you’re lucky 😀

So, we have Yoh and Hao talking inside the G.S just like at the end of the previous Flowers chapter. Wait… these are supposed to be two different series… right? Huh… Anyway, Hao’s flashback starts in page 3, so I guess it’s not that important.

Note that this is the only the first part, meaning that we’ll have more Mappay Douji coming (next month there’ll be a new chapter of both Zero and Flowers)

Kyoto, year 981, after Ohachiyo left. A powerful onmyouji (yin-yang master) called Tadatomo finds Hao starving in the streets and kind of decides to adopt him as his apprentice. A young onmyouji trainee called Daitaro exterminates Hao’s chibi onis to show his master who strong he’s gotten. Tadatomo helps him out with  Zenki and Goki.

Once in palace, beggar Hao turns into a cute little princess prince and Daitaro senpai gets jealous at the newcomer’s popularity. He tries to hit Hao and their master comes to the rescue. They start talking about the annual oni exorcising ceremony held in front of the emperor and then Tadatomo molests Hao (but just a bit)

Scene changes to a hermit-looking guy in a cave. His name’s Dohma and he wants to take revenge on Tadatomo by releasing a bunch of chimimoryo to ruin the ceremony… also Daitaro is more than eager to help him.

Scene changes again to the two kids making seals. Daitaro is surprised that Hao knows who to write, when he normally shouldn’t. Hao reads his mind and answers that it was Ohachiyo who taught him. He then explains a little bit more about how reishi works and how he’s found out everything about the ceremony sabotaging plan thanks to said power. However, Hao tells him he’s not telling anyone because he’s not interested in taking sides. He only wants to live freely.

The ceremony starts and the demons are released. Daitaro’s goal was to exterminate them to save everyone and become his master’s number 1 student again. Dohma’s goal was to take revenge on Tadatomo, who took his place as head onmyoji. Of course neither the emperor nor the other guests can see the onis, since they’re not shamans. Just as planned, Daitaro jumps to the rescue… but Tadatomo skewers him with his katana, splashing blood everywhere.

Turns out everything was a farce and Tadatomo and Dohma were actually working together in order to create a new kind of oni using human bodies…… But we’ll need to wait till next month to find out what that’s all about.

Wow!

Coming soon.
