This week in Shaman King we have a couple of releases to finish up 2021!
First up on Monday is not a Shaman King release, but a manga series that is “directed by” Hiroyuki Takei! The first volume of the MINI4KING manga series, which has the story and art by Yuki Imada, is based on the designs and framework set out by Hiroyuki Takei. Hiroyuki Takei also has his manga series Hyper Dash! Yonkuro, which currently on hiatus before the final chapter, that is also based on the Mini4WD line of toys. The MINI4KING series runs monthly in Corocoro Magazine in Japan.
On Tuesday, the February 2022 issue of Nakayosi magazine is released. This issue releases a week earlier than normal due to the New Years holiday. Within the digital and print editions of the magazine is a new chapter of Shaman King: & a Garden manga. With the physical copies of the magazine, there are several extra bonuses. First there is some manuscript paper which has pre-printed pages from various manga, including Shaman King: & a Garden. The bonuses continue with some screentone and a dual-sided pen. With all of these combined, you can trace the manuscript with the pen and apply your own screentone to make replicas of the manga pages. The pages are a smaller size than the actual manga.
Due to the New Years holiday, the Shaman King anime is on break this week. The series will return next week with Episode 38. A complete listing of the upcoming anime episodes can be found here.
There are also a couple of new events starting this week. First the mobile game Shadowverse will be having a Shaman King tie-in event. This will be available in the English, Japanese, and Chinese versions of the game. The event will start on December 27th and continue until January 25th, 2022.
Starting on New Years Day, the Izumo region of Japan will be having a new Tourism Campaign that will last all month. We’ve covered some of the initial details in a previous article and we will have an additional article soon with more information about the goods and food items that will be available.
In Shaman King: Funbari Chronicle there is also a collection of other new events that have started. There is both the ongoing Ordeal fight with Marco along with a new one starting on the 28th with the Giant Oni. With the new ordeal is a Osorezan Revoir Gacha featuring a new Yoh & Anna design. The X-Laws gacha will also continue until the end of the year.
