With the brand new Shaman King: Funbari Chronicle game launching in only a few days from now, we’ve collected all of the pre-release information you need to know to get ready for the game’s launch!

Release Date/Time

The game is scheduled to release on December 8, 2021. The exact time has not been announced, and it could vary by platform. It could potentially release as early as midnight (00:00) in Japan on December 8th.

Release Platforms and Languages

The game will release on both iOS and Android for mobile devices. The game is also in Japanese only, with a limited amount of English also presented for some menus. There has been no announced plans for Console/PC release or any other international/Global releases for the game.

Android

Minimum Operating System: Android 7
Recommended Operating System: Android 9 or higher
Minimum RAM: 3GBs
Recommended RAM: 3GBs
Language: Japanese
Link to Pre-Register/Download

If you click on the Pre-Register/Download links above, on an appropriate device, you should be able to download and install the game when it launches. The game may be restricted from being played on your device depending on the region it is listed in.

If you see a message similar to above saying that the game is not available in your country you have a couple of options. For both Android and iOS, you will need to be logged in with an account that is listed within Japan. If you are on Android, and can install .apk files directly (not going through the Google Play store), you can use apps such as QooApp which will allow you to download and install the game once it comes out without having a Japanese account setup.

While no official PC version of the game is being released, you may be able to use Android emulators such as BlueStacks to play the game once released.

The game does have online components, but it is not clear at this time if it can be played in offline-mode. The game does not require access to your location data, microphone, or camera.

The game will require some knowledge of Japanese in order to play. The battles are turn-based, with no quick-time actions, so you can plan out your next moves. The game does have many icons and images which can assist in doing the core gameplay. Some portions of the game may be easier to play with limited to no knowledge of Japanese and by following some guides online.

Linking to Social Media Accounts

You are NOT required to link a social media account to the game in order to play. However there are options to do so for additional in-game bonuses. If you participated in the Pre-Release missions, you will need to link your account to receive those benefits. Additional information on the Pre-Release Missions is included later in this article.

Rerolling & Starting the Game

When you start the game, you will need to complete through the tutorial before other portions of the game unlock. At the end of the tutorial you will receive 10 free gacha pulls to allow you to get a starting team of Shamans.

The current list of available shamans in the gacha have not been announced yet. If you are not statisfied with your free 10 pull, you can delete the app (and all saved data) and reinstall the game. After completing the tutorial again, you will have another shot at the gacha. The concept of “rerolling” in gacha games is to repeat this process of restarting the game until you get a strong or rare character with the free gachas.

It is also unknown if they will give you a shaman by default prior to the gacha pull. You can receive duplicates of Shamans in your gacha pulls.

Gacha Summons

There are two types of gachas, one for “Shamans” and one for “Vision Cards.” The Shamans are your playable characters and the “Vision Cards” act as additional buffs, or improvements, that you can equip to your Shamans.

The Shamans you pull via the gacha can come in different “rarities.” The more rare, the more powerful they will be. You can also combine multiple lower-level Shamans together to form this higher rarity. The rarity ranges from 1★ to 5★.

Due to the lower number of Shamans available in the game, the chances of at least getting one of your favorite characters is considerably higher in this game. It may not be the highest rarity, but being able to have your favorite Shamans on your team should be more accessible.

During the first week of the game’s launch, December 8th through December 15th, every player will get a daily free gacha summon, so be sure to log in each day and do that pull!

In-Game Purchases

While the game is free, there are various items you can purchase in-game using both in-game currency as well as real-world money. To use real-world money, you may need to use a Japanese credit card or pre-paid gift cards that are setup for the Japanese app stores. You can purchase pre-paid gift cards from places such as Play-Asia and other reputable dealers. The exact details for this will be determined for international players once the store opens.

The pricing and item details have not been announced yet. However it is likely that you can purchase items that will restore your stamina to allow you to continue playing (reducing the cooldown period) as well as doing additional gachas for Shamans and Vision Cards. Spending money is not required to play or beat the core story mode of the game.
