Voice Case Announcements
Sati will be voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi (三石琴乃) in the 2021 anime series. Yuka Komatsu (小松 由佳) previously voiced the character in the Japanese Shaman King: Funbari Spirits PS2 game and had a character song included with the Shaman Fight of Vocal (S.F.O.V.) music CD collection.
Pascual Abaj will be voiced by Eri Kitamura (喜多村英梨). This will be the first time this character will have speaking lines
A sample of Sati’s voice, by Yuka Komatsu, from the Japanese PS2 game Shaman King: Funbari Spirits can be found below (with the character song playing in the background). The clip is from the 6th chapter of Yoh’s story within the game and can contain some slight spoilers.
Voice Cast Comments
Similar to the previous voice cast announcements, they asked some of the voice cast members the same questions for their comments. We’ve included a rough English translation below.
Kotono Mitsuishi for the voice of Sati
Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
The rush towards a single common goal, at the risk of the boys and girls lives, is a strong appear for the Shaman King series. I was also impressed by not only their will to fight and defeat their opponents, but their willingness to protect them as well.
Can you tell us about how you feel to play Sati?
My initial impression of Sati was that of a person who had transcended the earthly world, but as I started to give her a voice, I sensed something more complex. She is a character with a strong soul, who is neither a friend nor enemy to anyone. I hope I can bring out Sati’s unique approach to conflict, which is not about pure strength or even about winning or losing. Comparing myself to Sati, I still have a lot to learn (laughs), but I’ll do my best.
This series will be exciting to the very end, so please don’t miss it.
Eri Kitamura for the voice of Pascual Abaj
Can you tell us about the appeal of this series?
Speaking for myself, this is one of the great works that everyone should enjoy from their youth! I love the well-crafted world and stories, but also Takei-sensei’s unique touch in the character designs and clothing that incorporates each character’s abilities and personality to their fullest extent!!!! You all wore your headphones just like Yoh-kun, didn’t you? Right!?
Can you tell us about how you feel to play Pascual Abaj?
I never thought I’d be able to be involved in a series that I watched as a child…! And then I get to be Abaj!!!
He’s cute in spirit form, but then handsome in human form! I’m so happy to be able to play a male role. This character, with the strong intellect and experiences, has many persuasive lines, so I am studying his intentions before I start recording. I’m going to be so nervous and excited to be able to perform those famous lines and scenes! (Delight)
